Maintenance

Your HVAC system is one of the hardest-working appliances in your home, and one of the easiest to forget about. It runs for months at a time with no attention, until something goes wrong.
Regular maintenance is how you stay ahead of that. Here is what a professional visit includes, and what it can save you.
Key Takeaways
A tune-up checks, cleans, and adjusts the parts that wear out first.
Maintained systems tend to run more efficiently and last longer.
Many warranties require proof of regular service.
Maintenance plans make it easy to stay on schedule and book faster during busy seasons.
What a tune-up covers
A technician cleans the coils, checks the refrigerant and pressure, inspects electrical connections, tests the capacitor and relays, clears the drain line, and measures airflow. Each of these is a common source of failure when ignored.
On the heating side, the visit includes checking the burners or heating elements, the heat exchanger, and the safety controls. This also helps catch carbon monoxide risks early.
You also get a written report. It tells you what was found, what was fixed, and what to keep an eye on, so you can plan repairs on your terms instead of in an emergency.
When to call a technician
Book a tune-up if:
It has been more than a year since your last service.
You are heading into summer or winter and want to be ready.
You have just moved into a home and do not know its maintenance history.
Your system is under warranty and you need a service record.
